Wedding Cakes
Depending how your wedding cake is being provided, please take careful note of the below with regards to ingredients and allergens. With all wedding cakes, when we cut the cake, we reserve the right not to serve it if it is not satisfactorily cooked.
Professionally Made Wedding Cakes
The person / company that produces the cake must send a full ingredients and allergens list when the cake is delivered to the venue. We will require the producer to provide their public liability insurance as per the Supplier Guide.
Shop Bought Wedding Cakes
The cake must be delivered to the venue in its original sealed packaging, and be labelled with full ingredients and allergens listed.
Home Made Wedding Cakes
We are extremely sorry, but we cannot accept homemade cakes at our venues. Sadly, the risks involved with allergens and food safety is too serious and we pride ourselves on ensuring the safety of all our customers and the food they eat.
What Wedding Cakes Are Allowed
Traditional Cutting Wedding Cakes – While fruitcake is the traditional choice, modern couples are increasingly opting for other flavours like sponge cake, chocolate, or lemon, sometimes incorporating the fruitcake as the top tier for tradition’s sake. The cake is traditionally served in tiers and the ‘cutting of the cake’ symbolises the first task performed jointly by the couple.
Or,
Individual Cupcake Wedding Cakes – A cupcake wedding cake is a collection of cupcakes arranged to resemble a traditional tiered wedding cake. This alternative to a classic cake offers a fun and versatile option for weddings, allowing for diverse flavours, colours, and designs. The cupcakes can be individually decorated and arranged on a tiered stand, sometimes with a larger “top tier” cupcake as the focal point. If you wanted to offer an alternative to cupcakes then this is allowed, however you must NOT provide any more than 1 portion per person invited.

Plum Park Manor Testimonials
We got married at Plum Park in October 2023, and it was amazing. The day could not have gone smoother, the whole team knew exactly what they were doing and really supported us through the day. The lead up came with meetings to plan, along with help to ensure that we had everything ready for the big day. The communication from the team couldn't have been better and we honestly felt really supported throughout the lead up. The food was the best, and all our guests enjoyed the food (no one left hungry!) The rooms at the venue were lovely, very clean and comfortable, and breakfast the next morning was amazing! I would definitely recommend Plum Park as the place to get married, they honestly will do everything they can to make sure you have the most magical day. Thank you so much to the whole team!
We had our wedding at Plum Park on 30.09.23 and it was the most amazing day!
The venue and grounds are absolutely stunning. All the guests loved it. And ones that stayed remarked on how lovely their rooms were.
Siobhan is so helpful in the planning process and replies to emails super swiftly. She makes helpful suggestions and shares her thoughts and expertise.
Ella and Jo are fantastic people and they just make the day perfect from start to finish. Everyone noticed how attentive they were. They were always there in the small snippets of the day just supporting us and being kind, it was nice to see them laugh at our best man’s speech too.
The food is great too, after the food tasting me and my husband were as excited for the wedding breakfast as we were the whole day. All the guests loved the food too.
Breakfast the next day is a great touch too and a nice way to have a laugh about the day before with our nearest and dearest.
A huge thank you to all the other staff who I haven’t named who made it so fantastic for us.
Overall I cannot fault anything at Plum Park. It was just the best day!
